W.I.R.E is a Washington state non-profit organization located in Oak Harbor, Wa. Becky Montanya-Davis; a lifelong horse lover and owner established W.I.R.E. in 2002. Becky spent several years as a volunteer and board member for another Northwest horse rescue when she recognized the need for a rescue organization in her own community. Thus W.I.R.E. was born.
Whidbey Island Rescue for Equines is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of members of the equine family that have been abused, abandoned and / or neglected.
We rely solely on private charitable contributions and the generosity of our volunteers, community, as well as fundraising efforts. Without these donations and volunteers we would be unable to continue our mission.
